BETA TOOLS SPEEDUP RIDERS SECURE POINTS AT THE UNPREDICTABLE JAPANESE GP
Beta Tools SpeedUp faced an unpredictable Japanese Grand Prix filled with surprises and twists, managing to finish with both riders in the points. The difficulties began right from the start: just a few laps after the start, a sudden downpour forced the organizers to display the red flag, interrupting the race just as López was battling for second place and Fermín Aldeguer was chasing in eighteenth position.
The race resumed at 12:30 PM, with 12 laps to go and both of our riders on wet tires, given the conditions. However, the unpredictability of the weather once again played a decisive role: the rain stopped, and the track dried quickly, benefiting those who had chosen slick tires.
Despite the challenge, López showed determination, finishing in ninth place and bringing home valuable points. Aldeguer, starting from the back, made a strong comeback, finishing twelfth and proving to be the fastest among those on wet tires.
Now, Beta Tools SpeedUp is focusing on the next round in Australia, scheduled from October 18 to 20.
ALONSO LÓPEZ #21: 9th
“We made a mistake in the choice of tyres, but it is something that can happen. The chances were 50/50 and we could not have foreseen this situation. We could have taken the risk, it is true, but I did not feel like tackling the race with slick tyres, considering that the track was really wet. However, we bring home some important points that allow us to be in the top three of the World Championship. Now we have a week of rest, after which we will come back stronger”.
FERMÍN ALDEGUER #54: 12th
“I didn’t want to take any risks and, in race 2, I rolled up my sleeves, giving my all to recover some positions. Unfortunately, we had a bit of bad luck; these are situations that cannot be predicted. I take responsibility for this choice. Now I need time to rest and calmly reflect on the next and final four races. We will soon return to the track with a new mentality”.
